“I decided on Colgate because of its great academic reputation, along with its many different degree options,” said Patterson, last spring’s recipient of the Del- Von Coaches Award for leadership, sportsmanship and commitment. “My family and I had the opportunity to visit several outstanding academic institutions, but we thought Colgate gave us the highest level of lacrosse combined with strong academics.

“Coach Mike Murphy and the rest of the coaching staff really made me feel at home and I knew I would have a new family at Colgate,” he continued. “I’m just really excited to get up there (Hamilton, N.Y.) and work hard to get myself on the field.”

Peddie lacrosse head coach Ross Turco said, “Jackson is an exceptional leader and I believe he will thrive at Colgate University. It has been exciting to see Jackson develop over the past three years and I am very proud of his accomplishments on and off the field. As a player, Jackson covers a great deal of ground and has the ability to contain high-level attackmen. However, it is how he communicates that makes him a great defender. I look forward to Jackson’s senior year and captaincy. He will undoubtedly leave a lasting and positive impression upon Peddie lacrosse.”
