A lthough I’m no longer a resident of Millstone, I continue to follow the events of the town in which I lived for 25 years.

Today I followed a link on the township website (www.millstone.nj.us/ and click on fire district budget vote) and reviewed the fire district budget. This excellent presentation is the best I’ve seen and kudos goes out to the team who put it together.

During the past few years, it’s been hard to watch the budget for the fire district have difficulty with the voters. If the voters take the time to look at the information documented on the link, there should be an overwhelming approval for this budget.

The bonus of this budget is no tax increase for 2012! Your firefighters are a topnotch asset to the community and deserve your support with a strong showing at the firehouse on Feb. 18. Thank them for the excellent service and dedication while you’re there and vote yes.
