Mrs. Shapiro, 73, of The Villages, Howell, died June 30, 2010, at home. She was born in Boston and was raised in Lexington, Mass., and Leonia. She was a graduate of Leonia High School and Brookdale Community College, Lincroft section of Middletown. Mrs. Shapiro retired from the Division of Developmental Disabilities, Freehold. Prior to that, she worked as the court clerk in Palisades Park. She was predeceased by her first husband, George Oesmann, and her second husband, Emanuel Shapiro. Surviving are a son, John Oesmann and his wife, Carrie, of Mount Olive; two daughters, Cathy Layden and her husband, Rick, of Fremont, Calif., and Nancy Oesmann of Hilton Head, S.C.; a stepdaughter, Judi Marraccini and her husband, Charles; and four grandchildren. A graveside funeral service was held at Brookside Cemetery, Englewood. Arrangements were by the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township.
