CentraState auxiliaries award scholarships
The associated auxiliaries of CentraState Medical Center recently awarded $500 scholarships to seven individuals in the community who have chosen to pursue a career in the health care field and who have volunteered in their community.
A review committee that examined each applicant’s transcripts, application form, essay and letters of recommendation chose the recipients.
Robert Dorfman of Northwestern University, Chelsea Chesner of Lehigh University, Alexander Silva of Middlesex Community College, Heather Evankow of Cedarville University, Brittani Campelo of University of Miami, William Largen of Temple University School of Medicine, and Judi Guy of Brookdale Community College were this year’s recipients.
CentraState’s associated auxiliaries led the public effort to create a hospital in western Monmouth County more than 45 years ago. Since the hospital’s opening in 1971, the auxiliaries have raised millions of dollars toward its growth and development. Money invested by the auxiliaries for annual scholarships have helped to ease the expenses in the pursuit of medical studies of over 62 recipients over the past 12 years.
