Roosevelt prepares for election ROOSEVELT — Two incumbents and one newcomer will run uncontested in the April 20 Board of Education election. Incumbents Kelly Yang and Jaymie Kosa are seeking re-election. Board member Linda Grayson decided not to run again. Edward Goetzmann has filed to run for her seat.P rincipal and interim Superintendent Shari Payson said Roosevelt Public School must present its proposed budget for approval to Monmouth County Executive Superintendent of Schools Carole K. Morris on March 22. She said that the school will not know how much state aid it will receive until Gov. Chris Christie makes the announcement on March 18. Payson said she and interim business administrators Mark Resnick and Ernest Turner have prepared a variety of budget scenarios in preparation for Christie’s announcement. However, she said none of the scenarios would be presented until the school has received all of the information necessary from the state to create a proposed budget. Last year, the budget totaled $2,657,481 and relied on a tax levy of $1,311,021. The Board of Education will hold a public hearing on this year’s school budget at 7:30 p.m. April 1 in the lobby of the school. The Board of Education election will take place on April 20. |
