Help with utility bills available Feb. 13

The Affordable Housing Alliance is offering a walk-in day for those needing assistance with home heating bills, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 13 at New Beginnings Agape Christian Center, 133 Throckmorton St., Freehold Borough.

Trained counselors from the Bilingual Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) will be on hand to help process applications for utility bill assistance. All Monmouth County residents are welcome.

Copies of the following documents must be presented: Social Security cards for all household members and birth certificates for children younger than 12 months of age; proof of U.S. citizenship or current legal residence status; proof of earned and unearned income for anyone in the household over 18 years of age, or proof of unemployment; proof of home ownership, rental receipts or lease agreement; proof of public housing/rental assistance; and current utility bills.
