      Allentown Art Guild hosts exhibit at winery
            The Allentown Art Guild will host Visions of Hope, an art exhibit that will run through Jan. 7 at the Laurita Winery, 35 Archertown Road, New Egypt. The exhibit will feature works of art that will include paintings in oil, watercolor and acrylic as well as mixed media, mobiles, stained glass, jewelry, photography and ceramics. Admission is free.

      Embroiderers' Guild will meet Jan. 4
            The Embroiderers' Guild of America - Monmouth Chapter's evening group will meet from 7-9 p.m. Jan. 4 at the Colts Neck Library, 1 Winthrop Drive, Colts Neck. Members will work on projects in preparation for "A Celebration of Stitches" exhibit. The chapter's day group will meet from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 21 at St. Mary's Parish Hall, Route 34 and Phalanx Road, Colts Neck.

      Roosevelt slates youth open gym program
            The Roosevelt Recreation Department is sponsoring a youth open gym program for students in grades 7-12 on Fridays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The program, to be held at the Roosevelt School, 2 School Lane, is offered free of charge and will not run on days that school is not in session.

      Brooklyn College '70s HPA reunion aids kids
            The Brooklyn College 1970s House Plan Association reunion is slated to be held from 8 p.m. to midnight March 13 at Palms Plaza Catering, 343 Route 34, Matawan. Proceeds from the reunion will benefit the ENS Foundation, the charitable arm of the Smith Sherman Knights of Pythias Lodge No.

      Millstone's Performing Arts Center seeks sponsors
            Community members have an opportunity to permanently display their support for the new Millstone Township Performing Arts Center by purchasing a seat sponsorship for $200. Sponsors can have a message engraved onto a brass plaque that will be affixed to the arm of a chair in the facility.

      Nominations taken for Animal Hall of Fame
            New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association, Hillsborough, is seeking nominations for its 15th annual Animal Hall of Fame. Induction ceremonies will be at a public awards luncheon Feb. 28 at the Hamilton Park Conference Center, Florham Park. Deadline is Dec. 1.

            Banish the post-holiday doldrums and dance your way into the new year Jan. 8 at "Swing into the New Year," Millstone's 2nd annual community dance emceed by Candace Woodward-Clough. Presented by Millstone Township Community Education, Woodward-Clough will teach two dances — a beginner swing and a Latin dance — from 7-8 p.m.

      Homes for dogs, cats and kittens needed
            The Monmouth County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA) is seeking foster homes and permanent homes for dogs, cats and kittens. Fostering is approximately a two-month commitment. The shelter also urges current pet owners to have their pets spayed/neutered. MCSPCA offers low-cost spay/neutering to the public.
