CentraState offers flu vaccines for $23
CentraState Medical Center in Freehold Township is providing the live, intranasal influenza and injection vaccine for H1N1 and seasonal flu vaccine.
These will be administered to the public on a walk-in basis at CentraState's Star and Barry Tobias Health Awareness Center, 901 West Main Street, 12-2 p.m. Dec. 29 and 3-5 p.m. Jan. 7. The cost is $23. Medicare or other insurance will not be accepted.
The H1N1 vaccine will only be administered to people in high risk groups: pregnant women and their spouses, children 2 to 4 years old, caregivers of infants six months and younger, health care providers, and persons 25 to 64 years old who have health conditions associated with higher risk of medical complications for the flu.
The live, intranasal influenza vaccine-H1N1 is only administered to people 2 to 24 years of age. This vaccine is not for people with heart disease, lung disease, asthma, kidney or liver diseases, metabolic disease such as diabetes, anemia or other blood disorders, certain nerve or muscle disorders, weakened immune systems or pregnant women.
The seasonal flu vaccine will only be administered to people ages 18 years or older.
