      Donate, give someone gift of hope this season
            Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks for all the wonderful blessings God has bestowed upon us. We can be grateful for our families and friends, food on the table, and gainful employment. We may give thanks throughout the year, but Thanksgiving Day is a time when we all come together to appreciate all that we have.

      Bills in state Legislature could have unwanted results
            There are two bills in the state Legislature dealing with foreclosures that could severely impact our communities. The first proposed law, A-3246, requires that the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (NJHMFA) "create a program to assist municipalities in purchasing foreclosed properties for affordable house use.

      FAAN Walk co-chairs thank all who helped
            The city of Long Branch hosted the second annual Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN) Walk for Food Allergy on Sept. 12. Despite the rain, nearly 1,000 people came out to walk along the boardwalk. Upon our 6 a.m. arrival, the storm's disturbance to the beach was staggering.
