      Scholarship offered to 4-H and FFA members
            The New Jersey Equine Advisory Board has announced a new $1,000 scholarship to help 4-H or FFA members pursue equine activities. The first Sara Dubinin Scholarship, in memory of Sara Dubinin, who loved horses, will be presented at the New Jersey Bred Equine Breeder Awards Dinner on Jan. 31, 2010.

      Roosevelt slates youth floor hockey program
            The Roosevelt Recreation Department is sponsoring a youth indoor floor hockey program for students in grades 1-6 on Monday nights from 7:30 to 9 p.m., beginning Dec. 7. The program will be held at the Roosevelt School, 2 School Lane, and is offered free of charge. The program will not run on days that school is not in session.

      Yoga program will begin in Roosevelt
            Certified hatha yoga teacher and Roosevelt Borough resident, Valerie Skillman, will conduct a yoga program 6:15-7:15 p.m. Mondays, Nov. 16 through Jan. 4 (no class Dec. 28) at the Roosevelt Public School, 2 School Lane.       Michelangelo's code discussed Nov. 18
            Millstone Township Community Education will present "The Secrets of the Sistine Chapel" by Maurice Mahler, an artist and historian, 7-8:30 p.m. Nov. 18. For centuries, people of all faiths have gone to the Sistine Chapel in Rome to stare up at Michelangelo's masterpiece depicting images from the Old Testament.

      Allentown Art Guild will host exhibit
            The Allentown Art Guild will host Visions of Hope, an art exhibit that will run through Jan. 7 at the Laurita Winery, 35 Archertown Road, New Egypt. The exhibit will feature works of art that will include paintings in oil, watercolor and acrylic as well as mixed media, mobiles, stained glass, jewelry, photography and ceramics.

      Rescue Ink Unleashed' stars host art auction
            Adopt-A-Pet, Millstone, has been rescuing animals since 1984. Many of the dogs the agency has rescued have gone on to become therapy dogs with Furry Angels Therapy Dogs, Millstone. The therapy dogs and their owners will be honored during a Dec. 5 event at Freehold Raceway.

            The Ladies Auxiliary of Millstone Township Fire Company is sponsoring a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Millstone Township Fire Company. Donations of household items, linens, clothing (one bag per family), toys, books, tools, electronics and sports equipment are being accepted from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 12 at the firehouse.
