Cheerleaders give back MILLSTONE — Three cheers for local cheerleaders. Cheerleading students at Cheer University in Millstone participated in The Susan G. Komen Foundation Pink for the Cure Oct. 15-16. The cheerleaders wore pink and collected funds for the foundation in support of breast cancer patients. "Almost all of us know a cancer victim or a survivor," Jamie Tringali, coordinator of the event, said. Through events like Pink for the Cure, Cheer University hopes to show cheerleaders that it is important to help others, according to Tringali. "We do lots of fundraising and now it is our turn to give back," she said. The school's All Star teams and tumble classes invited their families to the Pink for the Cure event, which raised $250 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. "All the parents and cheerleaders were dressed in pink," Tringali said. "It was awesome." |
