Arrests made for some Millstone, U.F. crimes

      BY JANE MEGGITT Staff Writer

Five arrests have been made in a series of car burglaries that plagued Millstone and Upper Freehold over the summer.

New Jersey State Police Detective Kenneth Koenig said that more than 50 such incidents occurred during June, July and August, with approximately $10,000 worth of goods stolen. According to Koenig, the names of those arrested have not been released because all suspects have not been identified and the investigation continues.

Police also arrested a 13-year-old who allegedly broke into several homes in his Upper Freehold neighborhood. He has been charged with juvenile delinquency, said Koenig. There were multiple incidents of break-ins in the Stacey Drive area and theft of certain items, he said.

Police continue to investigate three home burglaries that took place in Upper Freehold and Millstone last month.

In all three cases, the suspect(s) gained entry into the homes by kicking the front door in or crawling through an open window. Cash, jewelry and electronics were stolen, he said.

Anyone with information about these crimes should call the New Jersey State Police at 609-584-5000, extension 5345.
