      Beginning this month, Cablevision is bringing MSG Varsity to the New Jersey shore. MSG Varsity includes a multi-platform suite of services, made up of a 24/7 television network, an online destination, and an interactive service — all spotlighting extracurricular activities and events at local high schools.

Malik with the golden arm
     Thomas Malik III, of Millstone, won the Golden Arm Competition during the National Tournament of Champions held Aug. 22- 28 in the home of the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Malik, who plays for the Manalapan Flamethrowers, a U12 travel baseball team, pitched and won three games that week, including two playoff games. He batted .455 and hit three home runs. The Manalapan Flamethrowers came within three games of earning a spot in the national championship game.
