      Annual rummage sale Nov. 14 at firehouse
            The Ladies Auxiliary of Millstone Township Fire Company is sponsoring a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Millstone Township Fire Company. Donations of household items, linens, clothing (one bag per family), toys, books, tools, electronics and sports equipment are being accepted from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 10-12 at the firehouse.

      Millstone PTSA to sell entertainment books
            As part of its annual fundraising campaign, the Millstone Township Middle School PTSA will sell entertainment books through Oct. 2. Each book will contain thousands of dollars in offers and discounts from local and national restaurants, shopping, services, hotels and resorts, recreation, entertainment and more.

            The MOMS Club of Millstone Township will hold its next monthly meeting 1:30 p.m. Oct. 8. The group will be discussing low- or nocost monthly calendar activities for all age groups, ranging from newborns and up.

      Oct. 2 slated for 'Pop' Rockhill golf outing
            The "Pop" Rockhill golf outing, hosted by the Gambler Ridge Golf Club, 121 Burlington Path Road, Cream Ridge, will be held Oct. 2. Lunch will begin at noon and the shotgun start will be at 1 p.m. An after round dinner is also part of the event.

      Driving clinic slated at Horse Park in U.F.
            The Garden State Horse and Carriage Society will host an educational driving clinic at the Horse Park of New Jersey, located in Upper Freehold, on Sept. 28. The clinicians include Robin Groves and Lore Homer. Spots for Lore Homer are available at $70 for a 50-minute time frame. Beginners are welcome.       Donations sought for horses in foster care
            Helping Hearts Equine Rescue, Millstone, seeks donations for three horses that a local family is fostering. The horses suffered malnutrition in their previous living situation and the family seeks monetary help to cover the costs of feeding, veterinarian and farrier care, vaccines and bedding.

      Run to benefit children suffering from cancer
            Online and mail-in registration has begun for the third annual Friends and Neighbors in Action 5K Race and Fun Walk. All net proceeds from the Sept. 26 event at Thompson Park in Monroe Township will go to children and families suffering from childhood cancers. The 5K race and fun walk will begin with registration at 9 a.m.

      Celebrate N.J.'s culture during Sept. 26 festival
            Gov. Jon Corzine and Secretary of State Nina Mitchell Wells will present New Jersey's fourth annual Statewide Cultural Festival Sept. 26. The event will take place noon-5 p.m. at South Riverwalk Park at Riverview Plaza in Trenton. The festival will feature art, music, dance, crafts, food and exhibits from all nations.

            A Beef and Beer Dinner Dance fundraiser will be held 7-11 p.m. Oct. 16 to celebrate Riding High Farm's 30th year of service in Allentown as a not-for-profit therapeutic horseback riding facility for individuals with disabilities. The event will be held at the Ancient Order of the Hibernians, 2419 Kuser Road, Hamilton.

      Elks Foundation to award 500 scholarships
            In an effort to alleviate the financial burden of escalating college costs, the Elks Foundation has launched a Most Valuable Student Scholarship contest. This year, the Elks will award $2.296 million to 500 students. Awards to the 18 top winners will range from $8,000 to $60,000 over four years.
