Travel basketball tryouts will be held Sept. 19
      The Millstone Warriors will hold travel basketball tryouts for boys and girls ages 8-13 on Sept. 19 at the Millstone Middle School gym. Registration is open to residents of Millstone, Allentown, Roosevelt and Upper Freehold, Children ages 8-10 will participate in the Mid-Monmouth League, which runs from mid-October through December.

      As part of its annual fundraising campaign, the Millstone Township Middle School PTSA will sell entertainment books through Oct. 2. Each book will contain thousands of dollars in offers and discounts from local and national restaurants, shopping, services, hotels and resorts, recreation, entertainment and more.

Redbirds will sponsor used clothing drive
      The Allentown High School Redbird band will sponsor a used clothing drive from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 19. Dropoff will be at the band's bus, located in the senior parking lot of Allentown High School, 27 High St. All usable and wearable clothing and shoes, accessories, household items made of fabric and in good condition and toys will be accepted.

Kiddie Academy slates Sept. 23 blood drive
      The Kiddie Academy of Millstone, through New Jersey Blood Services, will hold a blood drive from noon to 5 p.m. Sept. 23 at 518 Route 33, Millstone. During the event, care will be available for donors with children and light refreshments will be served.

Allentown festival slated for Oct. 10-11
      Allentown's annual Fall Festival will be held 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 10-11. The festivities will include vendors and crafters, festival foods, musical entertainment, an antique car show, a scarecrow-making contest, a petting zoo, a civil war encampment with battle reenactments, baseball games and more.
