      Walk for Farm Animals on Sept. 20
            Farm Sanctuary, an animal protection organization, is hosting a Walk for Farm Animals Sept. 20 in Princeton. Registration will begin at 2:30 p.m. and the walk will start at 3 p.m. Farm Sanctuary sponsors walks to raise awareness about animal-welfare issues associated with factory farming. This year, over 50 walks are scheduled across the country.

      Veterans from all eras are welcome to join
            The Veterans Coalition, Millstone Post 03, will hold its monthly meeting 7:30 p.m. Sept. 1 at Millstone Elks Lodge, Burnt Tavern Road. All honorably discharged U.S. military veterans from all eras and current serving military are invited to join. Member applications will be available.

      Festival needs vendors, crafters
            Artists, crafters and entertainers are needed for this year's annual Allentown Fall Harvest Festival, scheduled for Oct. 10 and 11. The deadline for applications is Aug. 31. Thousands have attended this annual event for over 25 years.

      Used tack sale to be held at Horse Park
            The second annual "Used and New Tack Sale" will be held rain or shine from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 22 at the Horse Park of New Jersey, Allentown. Admission is free. The event will be held on Turkey Trot day, a Horse Park fundraiser.

      Allentown Garden Club to meet Sept. 10
            Clarksburg residents John and Susan Brandauer will share their expertise when they present "Butterflies and their Gardens" at the Sept. 10 meeting of the Allentown Garden Club. The Brandauers will discuss plantings and conditions necessary to attract and keep butterflies in the home garden.

      Passport Shopping back in August
            By popular demand the Allentown Business Community Association is having Passport Shopping in Allentown. There will be four weekly drawings and each winner will be selected on Sundays, ending Aug. 30. Shoppers must visit the participating shops and collect at least 10 different country stamps to be entered in the weekly drawing.

      Colonia H.S. class of '69 will host reunion
            The Colonia High School class of 1969 will host its 40th reunion 7 p.m. Oct. 10 at LaGriglia Seafood Grill, 740 Boulevard, Kenilworth. There will be a cash bar.       VSA arts offers programs for autistic children
            VSA arts of New Jersey, New Brunswick, has announced its fall program offerings for children ages 3-21 with autism, with registration beginning Sept. 8. Parent/child workshops in the arts for children with autism will be held 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturdays, Sept. 26 through Dec. 5, in New Brunswick. Each workshop meets for one hour per week.

      Entries sought for cover design contest
            Jersey Shore Public Relations and Advertising Association (JSPRAA) has announced a cover design competition and scholarship for students attending vocational school, high school, or college. The winning entry will be published on the cover of the 35th Annual JASPER Awards program in October.

      Celebrate completion of first trail loop
            The Millstone Trailblazers, along with the Open Space and Farmland Preservation Council, will host the Millstone River Inaugural Ride on Sept. 27. The ride is being held to celebrate the completion of the first of five trail loops, which will comprise the Millstone Trail Network.

      Bird watchers are invited on walk
            Bird watchers, ages 15 and older, are invited on a walk of Perrineville Lake Park to look for fall migrants. A naturalist will accompany the walk, which is intended for beginners as well as experienced birders. Binoculars will be available, but attendees can bring their own.

      Tour de Fair Haven to be held Sept. 20
            The Tour de Fair Haven, a Jersey Shore bicycle race, will be held Sept. 20 with a 7 a.m. start time. The race will be followed by festive activities for kids of all ages and their families. Over 250 cyclist amateurs from New Jersey, Pennsylvania and the New York metro area are expected to take part.

      Fresh produce available Saturdays
            The Millstone Township Community Farm Market is open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Oct. 24. Jersey corn, blueberries, farm fresh eggs, local honey, peaches, squash, herbs and more are available. The market is located at Wagner Farm Park, located at the corner of Baird and Woodville roads in Millstone.

            Experience the ups and downs, rumble and shake of the operating 19th-century gristmill at Historic Walnford in Crosswicks Creek Park, Upper Freehold, 1-4 p.m. on weekends through November. Visitors will have the opportunity to see how corn was processed in the late 1800s.
