Diana "Tish" Obal
      Mrs. Obal, 56, of Howell and formerly of Freehold, died July 31, 2009, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. She received her nursing degree in 1972 from Flushing Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Obal was the former sales manager at the West End Family Pharmacy, West Long Branch, prior to which she worked as a nurse for the VNA of Central Jersey.

Raymond Grassi
      Mr. Grassi, 79, of Lakewood, died at home July 31, 2009, after a long illness with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). A native New Yorker, he lived much of his life in Tinton Falls and Colts Neck before moving to Lakewood nine years ago. Mr. Grassi served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In 1995 he retired from Arco Chemical Co.

      Mrs. Hammerschmidt, 89, a resident of Millstone Township for 50 years, died Aug. 1, 2009, at The Manor Nursing Home in Freehold Township. Born in Austria, she was a communicant of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Millstone and a member of the Millstone Senior Citizens.
