The Allentown boys lacrosse team honored its senior players on April 28 in a pregame ceremony before playing Colonial Valley Conference rival Hightstown.
The Allentown High School boys lacrosse team honors graduating players in a Senior Day ceremony on April 28. First row (l-r): Richie Morris, Brendan Skeehan, Issac Nissim, Bryan Pope and Luke Lamb. Second row (l-r): coach Mike Kays, Tim Collins, James Bulk, Bobby Sopher, Louis Keleher, Vin Rini, Kevin Predmore and coach Carl Schubauer. Varsity coach Mike Kays recognized the 11 players and their families, many of whom have been with the program for all four years of high school and several who plan to play lacrosse in college. With more than half of the season over, the coach will rely on these experienced players to carry the team through the remainder of its games.
Kays said in a speech about the efforts of these players and their contributions to the team, "I have had the opportunity to not only watch these students develop as players, but also grow into fine young men. These seniors have played a major role in the growth of the program, now in its sixth year, and developing younger players."
In addition to recognizing seniors James Bulk, Tim Collins, Louis Keleher, Luke Lamb, Richie Morris, Issac Nissim, Bryan Pope, Kevin Predmore, Vin Rini, Brendan Skeehan and Bobby Sopher, the team presented bouquets of flowers to the players' mothers.
At the conclusion of the game, the team hosted a small party to thank the Allentown lacrosse families for their continued support over the years.
The 9-1 victory over Hightstown made the senior send-off even more special. Leading the way for Allentown, Bulk broke his own single-game scoring record by scoring five goals. Matt Mueller and Chris Pepe also scored two goals each.
