      Jay F. Hyland

      86, of Perrineville, formerly of Old Bridge and Marlboro

      Jay F. Hyland

       

      Mr. Hyland was born in South River and lived in Old Bridge and Robertsville section of Marlboro, before moving to Perrineville eight years ago. Mr. Hyland was a pipe fitter for over 35 years retiring in 1985 from 3-M in Freehold. Mr. Hyland was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in the European-African-Middle East Theaters during World War II where he participated in the invasion of Sicily, Salerno, Anzio and the invasion at Normandy Beach, and was the recipient of 4 Bronze Stars. Jay was a former member of the South Old Bridge Fire Company and was a member of the Livingston Lodge #11 F. & A.M. in Orange.

      He is predeceased by his two brothers: Alfred in 1990 and Daniel in 2006. He is survived by his Wife of 56 years: Lillian M. Brautigam of Millstone Township, Two Sons & a Daughter In-Law: Jay H. and Rita Hyland of Millstone Twp., William R. Hyland of Millstone Twp., Two Grandchildren: Jay N. & Heidi Hyland of Millstone Twp.

      Service Information: Visiting at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Twp., NJ on Tuesday April 28th from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend His funeral service on Wednesday April 29th at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Old Tennent Cemetery, Manalapan.
