Mr. Rakes, 56, of Jackson, died March 2, 2009, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold, after a battle with cancer. He had been employed by the Montgomery Care Center, Freehold Township, and for the last 12 years was an employee of Quest Diagnostics, East Brunswick. Mr. Rakes was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Surviving are his wife, Nancy Jane Stiles Rakes; his father, Charles Mack Rakes, Kentucky; and son, Keith Allen Rakes, Washington. Funeral services were at Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold.
