Navy Capt. Joseph Sensi Jr. has retired after 29 years of active duty while serving as director, sound navigation and ranging integrated coordinating group, U.S. Fleet Forces Command, Naval Station Norfolk, Va. Sensi's previous commands include commanding officer aboard the USS Conserver, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; flag secretary assigned to commander, six fleet aboard USS Belknap and USS Lasalle and commanding officer aboard USS Kersarge. Sensi's awards include three Legions of Merit, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, five Meritorious Service Medals, three Navy Commendation Medals, three Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals and the Combat Action Ribbon. A 1976 graduate of Allentown High School, Sensi joined the Navy in February 1980.
