Screenings with the stars

Imagine going to the movie theater and seeing a festival-winning film before public release and then meeting its creators when the lights come up.

Moviegoers will have those opportunities during the Filmmakers Symposium Spring 2009 Series, which will run for 12 weeks at two New Jersey theatres: AMC Loews at Monmouth Mall in Eatontown and AMC Loews in Mountainside. This series has hosted 1,291 movie premieres with 860 guest appearances over the past 18 years.

"The program will always be flexible in order to take advantage of opportunities as they arise," Chuck Rose, symposium director, said. "Wonderful surprises and fantastic celebrities can pop up out of nowhere, so I try to keep the schedule as fluid as possible."
