      Roadsides should remain free of trash, debris
            New Jersey is a beautiful state. It has hills, ocean, woods, trails, beaches and so much more to offer a wonderful lifestyle to residents and visitors alike. With so much beauty, it is sad indeed to witness New Jersey's lack of attention to keeping its roadsides and drainage ditches clear of trash and debris.

      Some veterinary schools have no compassion
            As the Girl Scouts of Troop 207 recently learned, veterinary medicine can be an exciting career path for those with a passion for science and a love of animals ("Girls Scout Merits of Veterinary Medicine" Feb. 5 Examiner). Unfortunately, compassionate students must be very careful about the veterinary school they choose to attend.

      Sen. Beck's column misleads, offers no solution to COAH issues
            The guest column by state Sen. Jennifer Beck, "Corzine's affordable housing law destructive to NJ," on Feb. 12 needs serious clarification. Throughout the column, Sen. Beck refers to "Gov. Corzine's new affordable housing law," implying that the governor has recently forced new policy and requirements on the people of New Jersey.

      Senior organization seeks new members
            All senior citizens age 55 and over are invited to join the Millstone Senior Citizens Organization. Meetings are held 11 a.m. on the second Tuesday of every month at the Millstone Community Center on Stagecoach Road in Millstone. Lunch and bingo are offered at no cost.
