      We have long known that plants and trees improve air quality in cities and towns. We have also found that trees can help reduce the incidence of asthma and other respiratory illnesses. But a new study has found that even tiny open spaces in developed areas have a broad impact on human health.

School district should have had more debate over 'Rent'
      The Examiner editorial of Dec. 11 was a very nice tribute in support of the school administration and faculty regarding the presentation of the musical "Rent." For that opinion the paper should probably be commended. If I were a faculty member or the superintendent, I would be grateful to the Examiner for the praise.
