Allentown Public Library can help make holidays bright
Looking for something different to give this holiday season? Look no further than your Allentown Public Library.
Instead of cash for your difficult teenagers, how about giving them a one-day pass to Six Flags Great Adventure? The library has discounted two-park, one-day passes available for any day during the 2009 season. For the younger set, the library has children-sized sweatshirts with the library logo.
Or, perhaps your youngster would like to be a book buddy? The children's library has developed a list of books that can be purchased in your child's honor. We will photograph the child with the book and post it in the library. The book will also have a bookplate showing your child's name.
Consider purchasing a sidewalk brick to honor a loved one. The bricks will be placed in the sidewalk in the spring when the weather warms.
For those co-workers or family members who have everything, we suggest a page-a-day book lover's calendar or a book selected from our used bookstall. You can also give a donation to the library in your loved one's name. The library has gift cards that acknowledge the donation.
Stop in the library to make a purchase any time during library hours.
