John T. Taikina
Mr. Taikina, 69, of Manalapan, formerly of Old Bridge, died Oct. 9, 2008, at home. He served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve and was honorably discharged in May 1967. A Certified Public Accountant, he worked in a number of management capacities for Halle & Stieglitz, Inc., in Manhattan for more than 20 years, retiring in 1990. Mr. Taikina is survived by his wife of 46 years, Joan; three daughters, Karan Taylor and her husband, Alec, Kristine Lindung and her husband, Bryan, and Kimberly Taikina; a son, John and his wife, Erin; a sister, Maryann Cunneen and her husband, Thomas; a brother, Robert and his wife, Irene; and a sister-inlaw, Sister Judy Olsen, O.P.; 11 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Liturgy was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Chapel in Freehold, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold. Memorial donations may be made to the School for Children, 270 Industrial Way West, Eatontown, NJ 07724. Arrangements were by the Freeman Funeral Home, Manalapan.
