            Recently the Monmouth County Sheriff's Office issued a press release warning that law enforcement unions are conducting solicitations that are scams.       'Rock snot' threatens New Jersey waterways
            Rock snot sounds like the kind of disgusting yet-catchy name marketers might come up with for a new kids' candy. But there's nothing sweet about this new threat to New Jersey's rivers, streams and lakes. Officially known as didymosphenia geminata, or didymo for short, rock snot is algae that attach to rocks in freshwater streams and lakes.

      WW II memorial to be dedicated Nov. 11
            On Veterans Day, Nov. 11, Gov. Jon S. Corzine and Maj. Gen. Glenn K. Rieth will be dedicating the New Jersey World War II Memorial. The ceremony will take place 2:30 p.m. at the Statehouse Plaza across from the memorial in Trenton.
