James T. Carney
      Mr. Carney, 88, of Freehold Township died Sept. 27, 2008, at Care One at Jackson. He was born in New York and had resided in Freehold for most of his life. Mr. Carney served in the U.S. Army during World War II and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. He was the proprietor of Moore's Inn, Freehold Township, from 1954 to 1978.

Kathleen M. Covitz
      Mrs. Covitz, 69, of the Brookville Village section of Waretown, died Sept. 24, 2008, at Southern Ocean County Hospital. She was a graduate of the last class of the old Barnegat High School in 1957. She went on to graduate from St. Francis School of Nursing, Trenton, and received a bachelor's degree from St. Francis College, Brooklyn, N.Y.

George Walter Travis
      Mr. Travis, 85, of Colts Neck, died Oct. 5, 2008, at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. He was born in Bronx, N.Y., and resided in Colts Neck for the past 42 years. Mr. Travis was a graduate of Pratt Institute. Prior to his retirement, he was a member of the technical staff at Bell Laboratories in Holmdel for 37 years.
