      Help is available for domestic violence victims
            Crimes of violence against women and children are too often hidden. Only about 25 percent of violent physical assaults and 20 percent of rapes perpetrated against women by intimate partners are reported to police, causing untold physical and mental injuries to the weakest members of our society.

            Iam angry. I am angry that there are increasingly disturbing incidents and events that point to a community that is failing to live up to the level of respect and appreciation for diversity that we should expect to prevail in the 21st century.

      Don't let economic stimulus payments go unclaimed
            Unless an estimated 156,000 New Jerseyans claim their payment by the Oct. 15 deadline, $47 million in economic stimulus payments will go unclaimed in the Garden State. If you make over $3,000 in wages or qualifying income, you are eligible for a rebate check of at least $300. This check will not be taxed next year and you never have to pay the money back.
