      George F. Bier

      Mr. Bier, 90, a lifelong resident of Freehold, died July 24, 2008, at home. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a Jacquard-Loom Weaver for the A&M Karagheusian Rug Mill for 30 years, and a U.S. postal worker in Freehold for 15 years. Mr. Bier is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Kate and Al Scarlata of Allentown, Nancy Jones of Manasquan and Georgene Connor of Oceanport; a sister, Joan Sporman of Union; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces. Graveside services were held at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold, under the direction of the Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold. Memorial donations may be made to American Legion Post 54, 62 West Main St., Freehold, NJ 07728.
