      As one of the National Hot Rod Association's (NHRA) original seven national events, Raceway Park is a major player in drag racing history. Since the Old Bridge track first hosted an NHRA event in 1968, the best racers in the sport have left their mark on the quarter mile drag strip.

Over 1,500 runners participate in George Sheehan Classic

      For the first time in recent memory, a Kenyan or an Ethiopian runner did not cross the finish line first at the George Sheehan Classic in Red Bank, as Craig Segal won the men's race with a time of 25:34, while Noel Brock, an assistant track coach at Toms River North High School, won the women's race with a time of 27:38, marking her second successive Sheehan triumph.
