John M. Mele, of the Cream Ridge section of Upper Freehold, died May 18, 2008, at the Robert University Hospital, Hamilton. Born in Elizabeth, he resided there for 66 years before moving to Toms River, where he resided from 1990 until 2001 when hemoved to CreamRidge. Mr.Mele was amailman with the Elizabeth Post Office for 38 years, retiring in 1985. He was a U.S.Navy veteran ofWorldWar II and amember of the Retired Men and Ladies Club in the Peterstown section of Elizabeth. He was predeceased by his wife,Margaret RuscianoMele; two brothers, Frank "Chich"Mele and StephenMele; and a sister,Margaret Caruso. Surviving are two sons, Stephen and his wife, Maryann Mele, and John A. and his wife, Gail Mele; and five grandchildren.
