      The article "Farewell to a Main Street mainstay" in the May 8 Examiner stated, "The [McLaughlin] family invited the local Shade Tree Commission to come to count the rings in the tree's trunk, which had a 21-foot diameter. However, the commission didn't send a representative on the fateful day.

      Even though I give the best advice of anyone I know (I always agree with it and take my own advice), the people who work with me don't always act on my advice. My kids didn't always take my advice, and sometimes they even acted in direct opposition to my suggested wisdom. My wife certainly doesn't always take my advice.
