      Millstone school budget ready for round two
      Mayor: Committee unlikely to accept $31.8M spending plan
            MILLSTONE - Once again, township voters defeated the school budget. Those who cast ballots in the April 15 Board of Education election turned down the $25million tax levy in support of the budget in a vote of 542-478. Voters also defeated a second question for $225,000 for building maintenance in a vote of 541-463.

            UPPER FREEHOLD - Although the vote wasn't a landslide, it was nonetheless a victory for the Upper Freehold Regional School District. Voters passed the school district's $31.5 million budget in the April 15 election in a vote of 359-340. Those who cast affirmative ballots voted to impose a tax levy of $16.9 million in support of the budget.

      Individuals recognized for serving school district
            MILLSTONE- Departing boardmembers and two teachers received recognition at the last Board of Education meeting. Board President Mary Ann Friedman, who declined to run for another term, led her last official meeting, during which outgoing board member Peter Kudrick and teachers who received the Governor's Teacher Recognition Award were honored.
