Tee off 'fore' education with the UFREF in June
      The Upper Freehold Regional Education Foundation (UFREF) will host its first annual golf outing on June 9 at the Cream Ridge Golf Club in Upper Freehold. All proceeds from the event will go toward the foundation's grant programs in support of the Upper Freehold Regional School District.

      Millstone Township Boy Scouts of America Troop 116 is holding an information meeting about a new Venture Crew program at 6:30 p.m. May 5 at the Millstone Primary School, Schoolhouse Road. Venturing is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts that is open to young men and women who are 14 through 20 years of age.

Children can take class to create a forest in a box
      The Millstone Township School District's Office of Community Education is sponsoring the following preschool programs. "Forest in a Box" offers children ages 3- 6 an opportunity to touch forest artifacts, including seeds, gall, nests and all kinds of tree parts. Each child will receive a live seedling. Will meet 9:30-10:15 a.m. April 18 in the Community Center.

Donations for teachers' lounges sought
      Staff appreciation will be celebrated May 5-9 at the Millstone Township Primary and Elementary schools. In addition to a breakfast, a luncheon and daily raffles, a makeover of the teachers' lounges is being planned. In order to complete this project, donations are being sought from the community.

5K Run slated Historic Walnford Park, April 26
      The Cream Ridge Winery, 145 Route 539 in the Cream Ridge section of Upper Freehold, will host the third annual Country Roads 5K run at Historic Walnford Park on April 26. The run will benefit Allies, Inc. Allies Inc. is an independent nonprofit organization that helps individuals with disabilities.

      The Standardbred Retirement Foundation (SRF) will host its annual charity golf tournament on May 12 at the Knob Hill Country Club in Manalapan. All proceeds benefit the SRF, which finds homes for non-competitive standardbreds and ensures their lifelong care.

AHS Jazz band to host 'On the Town' concert
      The Allentown High School Jazz Ensemble will perform its annual jazz concert "On the Town" at 7 p.m. April 26. The Millstone and Allentown Middle School's Jazz Ensembles will also be performing. The concert will take place at the high school at 27 High St. The ticket prices are $20 for adults and $15 for children under 10.

Roosevelt String Band to perform April 25-26
      The Roosevelt Arts Project will present the Roosevelt String Band at 8 p.m.April 25 and 26 at borough hall. The 21st annual concert of the string band will include performances by David Brahinsky, Paul Prestopino, Ed Cedar, Joe Pepitone and Sarah Houtz.
