Vote in the April 15 Board of Ed. election
      Over the past several months, our school district has been meeting to prepare a budget for the 2008-09 school year. The Upper Freehold Regional Board of Education unanimously adopted this budget and on April 15 our two municipalities will have the opportunity to vote on it.

      Ithink it is a tremendous embarrassment that the people of the state of New Jersey could be so very egotistical and arrogant as to think that it is not important to have one and one-half thousandths of a percent (.0015 percent) of the state's budget dedicated to a department of agriculture.

      Considering the trends of our modern American society - people getting fatter and children losing their connection with nature- it's dismaying that Gov. Corzine wants to close nine state parks and reduce services at three others in an attempt to solve New Jersey's budget crisis.

All had a hot time at annual chili contest
      The Allentown Recreation Commission would like to thank the local community for supporting and attending the third annual Allentown Chili Contest held on Saturday,March 29 at the Allentown First Aid Building. It was a record crowd and we wanted to extend our thanks to the many chili contestants for their delicious entries and to those who donated their homemade corn bread.
