      Winners of Lions Club egg hunt announced
            Eight contestants took home large baskets filled with candy and other goodies after finding the silver and gold eggs hidden in the Allentown Lions Club's annual Easter Egg Hunt in Farmers Park on March 15. In the 1- to 3-year-old age group, Nicole Woods found the silver egg and Silas Smith found the gold egg.

      Dave Witkins to speak at April 15 HAMT meeting
            The Horsemen's Association of Millstone Township (HAMT) will hold its monthly meeting 7 p.m. April 15 at the Millstone Township Community Center, 463 Stagecoach Road, Clarksburg section of Millstone. Guest speaker and farrier Dave Witkins will give a presentation on balance, founder and limb length disparity in the equine.

            The Brandeis University NationalWomen's Committee (BUNWC) Tri- County Chapter will feature a first person historical account of "Molly Pitcher" by Stacy Roth, at 2 p.m.April 15 at theWashington Township Library, 42Allentown-Robbinsville Road, Robbinsville. The meeting is free and open to the public.

      Allentown businesses will host community yard sale
            TheAllentown Business CommunityAssociation (ABCA) is sponsoring a community wide yard and sidewalk sale starting at 9 a.m. May 17. ABCA will provide posters, flyers and advertising for the event. Alist of participating resident addresses will be available the morning of the sale so that shoppers can easily find the participants.

      Millstone PTO to hold clothing drive April 26
            The Millstone Township PTO is sponsoring a spring clothing drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 26 at the Millstone Township Primary School, Schoolhouse Road. The PTO will collect bags of clothing, stuffed animals, shoes, belts, handbags and soft household items such as sheets, pillows, towels and curtains.       Donations for teachers' lounges sought
            Staff appreciation will be celebrated May 5-9 at the Millstone Township Primary and Elementary schools. In addition to a breakfast, a luncheon and daily raffles, a makeover of the teachers' lounges is being planned. In order to complete this project, donations are being sought from the community.

      Monmouth County plans senior citizen art show
            Monmouth County residents age 60 and over are invited to submit one piece of original, visual art for Monmouth County's annual 2008 Senior Citizen Art Contest and Exhibition. County residents can pick up an application at the county's Division on Aging, Disabilities and Veteran's Interment Affairs at 21 Main St.

      Millstone's Performing Arts Center seeks sponsors
            Communitymembers have an opportunity to permanently display their support for the newMillstone Township Performing Arts Center by purchasing a seat sponsorship for $200. Sponsors can have amessage engraved onto a brass plaque that will be affixed to the arm of a chair in the facility.

      Roosevelt's architecture explored in documentary
            The RooseveltArts Project will present "Jersey Homesteads: In the Architectural Vanguard" at 8 p.m. April 12 at borough hall. The event will include a showing of a documentary video by Roosevelt resident Ben Johnson that explores the architectural history of the original Roosevelt houses. There will also be a question/comment session.

      Beck proposals address commuter bus service
            Twelfth District state Sen. Jennifer Beck announced that she has introduced a package of three bills designed to improve commuter bus service in New Jersey, and said she has written a letter to Senate Transportation Committee Chairman Sen.

      New support group helps those affected by autism
            AMonmouth County support group for family members of an individual with an autism spectrum disorder will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on April 24, May 22 and June 26 at the Monmouth County Library, 125 Symmes Drive, Manalapan.

      Riding High Farm to host free movie event April 12
            Riding High Farm, 145 Route 526, Allentown, will host a free showing of the movie "Racing Stripes" at 7 p.m. April 12. The story of an abandoned zebra that grows up to believe he is a racehorse will be shown in the barn. Lawn chairs and blankets are suggested. Proceeds from the snack bar will go to support the farm's therapeutic horseback riding programs.

      Millstone to offer preschool programs
            The Millstone Township School District's Office of Community Education is sponsoring the following preschool programs. "Forest in a Box" offers children ages 3-6 an opportunity to touch forest artifacts, including seeds, gall, nests and all kinds of tree parts. Each child will receive a live seedling. Will meet 9:30-10:15 a.m. April 18 in the Community Center.

      MOMS Club to host spring 'meet & greet'
            The MOMS Club of Millstone will be hosting an open "meet & greet" from 10 am to noon April 17 at the Millstone Firehouse, Stagecoach Road. Moms from Millstone and Roosevelt are invited to come and meet the members and participate in a carnival-themed morning. Kids' activities include Bubbles the Clown, face painting, games, crafts, a small moon bounce and treats for all.

            The New Jersey United Christian Academy will host a benefit dinner and concert at 6 p.m. April 11 at 73 Holmes Mill Road, in the Cream Ridge section of Upper Freehold. Attendees will be entertained by the school band, the Korean choir, the Hands of Praise Choir and the music of the band, Unspoken.
