            This is a response to John Nanni's opinion titled "Upper Freehold residents urged to protect the Country Code." There is no doubt in my mind that the Upper Freehold Township Committee wants to preserve the Country Code.

      Parents need to be aware of inhalant abuse
            Inhalant use has become a silent epidemic. Why? Parents are out of the loop. Children discuss it and practice it; adults stay in the dark. A recent study by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission showed that 95 percent of parents believe their child has never used inhalants.

      A visit to Liberty Science Center is worthwhile for students
            The article "Usefulness of class trips questioned" in the Feb. 28 Examiner reported that school board member Laura Dreifus questioned the value of field trips, saying that students coming to Liberty Science Center spent only 45 minutes in exhibition galleries and the majority of their time watching an IMAX film, eating lunch and visiting the gift shop.

      Bill regulating annuities sales people merits attention
            Annuities which guarantee buyers regular income after a long-term investment can be useful tools for retirement planning. Unfortunately, the annuities market is also ripe for fraud. For instance,most annuities do not provide any returns for 10 years ormore. They are inappropriate for most people in their 80's and yet self-described experts advertise them to seniors.
