      The deadline for filing nominating petitions to run for positions on the Millstone Township Board of Education is 4 p.m. Feb. 25. The election is scheduled for April 15. Prospective school board candidates can obtain a "School Board Candidate Kit" at the local school district office.

UFRSD PTA slates book fair at Barnes & Noble
      The Upper Freehold PTA will host a book fair fundraiser for the Upper Freehold Regional Elementary/Middle School Jan. 26 at the Barnes & Noble in the Hamilton Marketplace. The eventwill feature guest readers and activities based on "Star Wars," the Harry Potter series, and Disney princesses.

Millstone to host Friday night fun for teenagers
      Millstone Township's Recreation Department will present teen nights 8-10 p.m. Fridays to April 25 in the Millstone Township Primary School gym. The events will feature a safe and fun place to hang out and socialize with friends, and games such as basketball, volleyball and pingpong.

      The Millstone Township School District's Office of Community Education is sponsoring the following program: • EditYour Digital Pictures: Learn how to edit out common problems and get professional quality in this three-hour class. Instructor Phyllis Caputo demonstrates the use of Photo Shop as a tool to edit, enhance and organize pictures. Offered 10 a.m to 1 p.m.

'Casino Night' to benefit Millstone community
      TheMillstone TownshipWomen's Organization (MTWO) will host a "Casino Night" from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. Jan. 25 at Knob Hill Country Club, One Shinnecock Drive, Manalapan. Limited tickets are available for $40 per person, which includes a variety of hors d'oeuvres, desserts and $25 back in casino chips. The fundraiser will benefit the Millstone Township community.

      The Millstone Township PTO and PTSA seek donations and supplies for their third annual Ladies Night Out/Gift Auction April 4. Individuals, families, neighborhoods, community groups and businesses are encouraged to participate in the fundraising event by making contributions of goods for auction and items for wrapping such as baskets, ribbons and basket wrap.

Shoot some hoops at RPS 7-9 p.m. on Friday nights
      The Roosevelt Recreation Department is sponsoring an open basketball program from 7-9 p.m. on Friday nights at the Roosevelt Public School. The program is open to students in grades 9-12 and will not take place on days when school is not in session.
