      Allentown post office accepting letters to Santa
            Children can drop off their letters to Santa Claus at a special mailbox at the Allentown post office beginning Nov. 23. All letters mailed by Dec. 19 will receive replies. The Women's Association of Allentown is sponsoring this holiday service.

            The MOMS Club of Millstone Township will hold its monthly meeting at 10 a.m. Dec. 13. Mothers from Millstone and Roosevelt are welcome to come meet the club's members and learn about this international, nonprofit organization that offers moms support and the opportunity to share activities and experiences with other local moms and children.

      Santa will visit Millstone and have supper Dec. 4
            Boy Scout Troop 116 has invited Santa Claus to have supper with locals 5-8 p.m. Dec. 4 at the Millstone Township Elementary School on Millstone Road. Patrons can enjoy an all-you-can-eat pasta dinner with dessert for $30 per family or $10 per adult and $5 per child under 10 years old. Santa will take pictures with those in attendance.

            "A Farm Conservation Plan" will be the topic of the Millstone Agricultural Advisory Board's Dec. 13, 7:30 p.m. seminar, hosted by Nicole Ciccaglione, a district conservationist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources Conservation Service.

      Group to host Hanukkah celebration on Dec. 9
            The East Windsor Area Hadassah will host an afternoon celebrating Hanukkah at the Hickory Corner Library, 138 Hickory Corner Road, East Windsor, starting at 1 p.m. Dec. 9. Dr. Kalman H. Hirsch, otherwise known as the singing chiropractor, will provide entertainment. Attendees are asked to bring a wrapped gift valued at no more than $5, for a Hanukkah game.

      Fundraiser aims to help county's homeless vets
            The Monmouth County Association of Realtors is nearing its goal of raising $12,000 as part of a matching grant to help Vetwork, a nonprofit organization, purchase a van for Monmouth County's homeless veterans. The van will serve as an "office on wheels" and transportation for veterans in need of immediate services.
