      A good decision for New Jersey's poor
            New Jersey is a place where people can find outstanding health care and emergency treatment. However, many of the lowest-income people do not benefit from this resource. The cost and burden of medical care is a leading cause of homelessness in New Jersey, and many low-income people often forgo doctor visits and medications in order to meet the costs of food, utilities or child care.

            The Monmouth County Association of Realtors applauds New Jersey's Rep. Robert E. Andrews (D-1st District) for introducing the Mortgage Cancellation Tax Relief Act. This federal legislation is important to many New Jersey homeowners who are going through the difficult process of foreclosure.

      It's time for old-fashioned democracy
            Hooray for Assemblyman Mike Panter (D-12th District), sponsor of the bill to reform the Fish and Wildlife Council. This archaic council, which has total authority over all wildlife in New Jersey, is no more than a state-sponsored hunting club. For over 50 years, the council has been comprised of hunters for the sole purpose of promoting trophy hunting and bloodsports.

      U.F. board missed chance to right a wrong
            Not often do we get a chance to right a wrong. We all wish we can turn back the clock and get another chance at a bad decision we made in life. The Planning Board had that opportunity Tuesday, June 26, when JAC Raw Land Co. presented its Meirs Road warehouse application to it for the third time.

      Aftermath of U.F. primary election was a blatant insult
            The aftermath of Upper Freehold's June 5 primary election would be comedic if it wasn't such a blatant insult to our intelligence. The primary actor in this election farce is Mayor Stephen Fleischacker, who is perhaps the most intellectually dishonest politician I have ever seen in action.
