      Voter disappointed with Millstone officials
            I was totally shocked and disappointed to read that our elected Millstone officials decided to overturn the recent school proposals against the voice of the people who elected them. Who do they think they are? Our elected officials are so arrogant that they threw out the majority view of the voters and sided with their cronies to pass a failed budget.

      RED will donate surplus to local schools
            The following is a response to a public request made by Walter F. Helfrecht in the May 3 Examiner regarding information posted on www.ReachAnEducatedDecision.net. With regard to displaying on the Web site that donations were "tax deductible," Reach an Educated Decision (RED) acknowledged and corrected this error. There was no intent to "mislead" the public.

      Without technology and education, what is our future?
            Unfortunately, due to personal obligations, I was unable to attend the May 2 Millstone Township Committee meeting at which time the committee considered the defeated Board of Education budget; however, I did get the opportunity to voice my opinion at the April 18 meeting. I commend the committee for understanding the needs of our children and the importance of education in Millstone.

      Act locally, or warm globally
            Anytime a problem has the word "global" in it, it's easy to be frightened off. A global problem is too big for us to impact here at the local level, right? Some New Jersey leaders recognize that global warming is the product of countless local decisions. So it's completely appropriate - and necessary - for us to address the problem locally.

      Public invited to attend feasibility study, June 25
            During the past year, the Crosswicks/Doctors Creek Regional Greenway Planning Group has been conducting the Doctors Creek to Assunpink Creek Trail Feasibility Study, with the assistance of Forbes Environmental and Land Use Planning. The purpose of the study is to determine the feasibility of a Doctors/Assunpink Creek Trail.
