Michael Cingolani, Mikey Brewer, and Chris LaRosa, all Millstone residents, either won or placed in their events, in the junior divisions, in Saturday's Mercer County National Karate Championships. All are members of The Team TBK, with their dojo based in East Windsor. The team is led by 18-year-old, third-degree black belt Sensei Scott Santos. The tournament draws competitors from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland.

Michael Cingolani, placed third in forms in the black-belt division. Chris LaRosa took second in forms, and third in weapons in the advanced belts division. Mikey Brewer, 8, took first place in forms, and second in point sparring, both in the black-belt division. Mikey then went on to defeat all the other junior first-place forms winners, in all divisions, to become the grandmaster champion of the tournament.

The entire TBK team will be competing in the April 29 tournament in West Orange.
