      Information session with schools superintendent
            The public is invited to a brief informative presentation and question-and-answer session with Dr. Mary Anne Donahue, Millstone superintendent of schools, March 20 at 7 p.m. at Millstone Township Elementary School. Parents will have an opportunity to get involved and ask questions about their child's education and residents' tax dollars.

      Pancake breakfast and egg hunt April 1
            The Millstone Township Women's Organization (MTWO) will host its fifth annual spring fundraiser, a pancake breakfast, Sunday, April 1, at the Millstone Elementary School. The all-you-can-eat breakfast will be served 9-11 a.m. and include pancakes, bagels, bacon, juice, milk, coffee and tea.

      Photo contest captures favorite places in N.J.
            The next photo you take anywhere in New Jersey impressive enough to don a picture frame might also make its way into the New Jersey Countryside Magazine and on their Internet Web site. The New Jersey Office of Travel and Tourism has partnered with New Jersey Countryside for a statewide photo contest of people's favorite places in the Garden State.

      Seniors to sponsor trip to Atlantic City casino
            The Millstone Senior Citizens Organization is sponsoring a trip to the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City on March 21. The cost of the trip is $20, with $10 back, and includes the show "Juke Box Jive." The bus leaves the community center on Stagecoach Road at 8:30 a.m. Call Jackie Frisco at (732) 446-8538.

      Live art auction by Ross Galleries slated for March
            The Women's Association of Allentown is hosting a live art auction by Ross Galleries on Saturday, March 24 at the Cream Ridge Golf Club, 181 Route 39. There will be a preview from 7-8 p.m. and admission is $15 per person or $25 per couple. Hors d'oeuvres, wine, dessert and coffee will be served.

            The Allentown-Upper Freehold Historical Society will meet at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 18 in the Allentown Library Community Room. The public is invited to attend. The Allentown-Upper Freehold Historical Society is currently conducting an open membership drive. Upper Freehold residents are particularly encouraged to join.

      Chili contestants sought for annual family event
            The Allentown Recreation Commission will hold its second annual chili contest 5-9 p.m. March 24 at the Allentown First Aid building, Route 526 (Waker Avenue). Chili contestants must preregister. All ages are invited to this free event, which includes a DJ, country music and dancing, food, and family fun. For more information, call Sandy at (609) 259-6405.

            Family and friends of those affected by the recent tornadoes in central Florida can check the American Red Cross "Safe and Well" Web site for information at https://disastersafe.redcross.org/Default.aspx. The Web site is available around the clock and the Red Cross encourages affected residents to register.

      Celebrate NJ launches 2007 poster contest
            In an effort to highlight New Jersey talent, Celebrate NJ, a grassroots movement to instill pride in the Garden State, is accepting entries for its 2007 Poster Contest as part of the "365 Reasons to Celebrate NJ" campaign. The contest invites participants to design a poster that reflects their reason to Celebrate New Jersey.

      Bands sought for NJPAC summer concert series
            JPMorgan Chase Sounds of the city, the New Jersey Performing Arts Center's free outdoor summer music series, is seeking musicians to perform as part of its summer 2007 series of concerts in Theater Square, NJPAC's public plaza, Thursday evenings and one Friday evening, beginning July 5. Three groups are featured per evening, each performing one 30- to 60-minute set.

      Board urged to address variables in referendum
            Not having information such as land cost and soil test results has some Allentown and Upper Freehold residents questioning whether they will support the new middle school referendum. Upper Freehold Regional Board of Education member Jeanette Bressi, who voted against posing the new referendum, which asks voters to approve an additional $13.

      Fresh Air Fund seeks summer host families
            The Fresh Air Fund is in need of host families to volunteer to give children from disadvantaged neighborhoods in New York City the opportunity to experience life outside of the city. Nearly 5,000 New York City children are granted the opportunity to live in a more spacious environment for two weeks or longer each summer through the Fresh Air Fund.
