I probably have no right to an opinion in this matter, having left Millstone Township more than 30 years ago, but I have never let my right stop me before, so why start now? I was raised in Clarksburg, went to school in Millstone Township and then Allentown. I got married and settled down in Clarksburg and raised my kids there into their preteen years. More ... On Jan. 23, the Allentown High School (AHS) community hosted a fundraiser at the school for our daughter, Rebecca, who was diagnosed with leukemia last fall. She is currently a junior at the high school and has been very active for the past three years at AHS. The fundraiser was called "A Night Out for Becca." Thanks to the efforts of many, the night was a huge success. More ... We are writing this letter in support of Ken Caitano, candidate for the Upper Freehold Regional Board of Education. Ken has shared some very good ideas with us as they relate to quality education, a common-sense approach to education, and strategies to control property taxes. More ... I'm writing in response to the article appearing in the Jan. 25, 2007, issue of the Examiner announcing the formation of the Gay/Straight Alliance Club within Allentown High School and the subsequent editorial praising same. More ... 'Residents can still take up the issue with the Upper Freehold Regional Board of Education. [Breza Road] could be a better place for its new middle school, considering that the land on Ellisdale Road selected for the facility is not only contaminated with arsenic and dieldrin, but also in a state planning area that does not allow for the use of public water/sewer. More ... Common sense at last - in response to Robert Cheff's comments on the issues surrounding the middle school. Our Board of Education should be looking further down the road and being a little more fiscally responsible for the taxpayers' money. The children are important, but the taxpayers are the ones who can make it happen for our children. More ... |
