Residents represent only their own personal views
I have noted that when the Examiner refers to any member of this development, he or she is invariably identified as "a resident of Four Seasons" active adult community. When residents from other parts of the township are mentioned in an article, their locations or developments do not become a permanent attachment to their names. I am not sure why the Examiner wants to isolate the homeowners of Upper Freehold Township who live in this development except to create ill will and separation from the population of both Allentown and Upper Freehold. No one in our neighborhood referred to in any article represents any but his or her own personal views. No one resident is entitled to speak for all of those living in this particular location.
I do not understand why the Examiner so resents this development nor why its residents are presumed to have a group mind-set. I am not aware of any special treatment that any neighborhood receives from the township, including ours. Perhaps we are just an easy scapegoat. Just as residents of other neighborhoods do, we pay taxes, support the local economy and shop locally. Many of our development's residents are current or former school teachers and administrators who know and value a good school system; we join township committees and volunteer for many local organizations. In other words, we are the same as any other residents moving into a new area.
I believe that affixing a development name to a person's name is divisive and counterproductive to helping us all work together for the betterment of the community. However, if the staff of the Examiner feels this is useful information, I suggest that its articles always include the development name or location for everyone whose name appears in your publication.
This is a partial list of the names of some of the developments in our township for your use in case you are not aware of them: Crosswicks Farm, Drews Farm, Forge Mills Estates, Galloping Brook Estates, The Grande at Cream Ridge, The Grande at Old York, Golf Edge Estates, Heritage Green, Jewel Ridge Estates, Lynwood Estates, Millpond Drive and New Canton Estates.
