Imlaystown Campus helps people in need

UPPER FREEHOLD — The students at the Imlaystown Campus of Allentown High School have always tried to be good neighbors.
Whether grooming the trails at Allentown’s Heritage Park, caroling during the holiday season or helping to keep local roads clean and beautiful, the students and staff of Imlaystown know how to serve the community.
Their recent “Help Us Help Them” food drive is just another example of how much heart they have. The drive was also a testament to how much their neighbors appreciate their community efforts.
Thanks to more than 80 of their neighbors, the Imlaystown students collected an abundance of food for families in need.
Cooperating with the Mount Carmel Guild, a Trenton-based, nonprofit organization that provides assistance to people — free of charge — through emergency assistance and home health-care programs, teaching assistant Melanie Samuels coordinated the successful project, which resulted in the creation of 100 Thanksgiving packages of food for the guild.
Jeff Roberts, a teacher at AHS’ Imlaystown Campus, said, “The staff and students want to thank all of our neighbors and friends who donated food for this worthy project.”
