TV show seeks town with odd home-repair questions
A home-improvement team from a popular television show may visit the area to fix household challenges later this year.
After four hit seasons, the PBS Emmy-nominated series "Ask This Old House" is inviting home enthusiasts in New Jersey to help choose one additional location for a house call in its upcoming season, according to an "Ask This Old House" press release.
"Now is your chance to have America's No. 1 home-improvement team come to your house and provide expert solutions to your household challenge," the press release states.
To enter the contest, multiple townspeople must submit unique home-repair questions at www.thisoldhouse.com, according to the press release.
The show will choose the location based on the area with the most compelling entries and will announce the contest's winner the week of July 24. The "Ask This Old House" crew plans to visit the chosen location this fall, according to the press release.
"Ask This Old House" host Kevin O'Connor, general contractor Tom Silva, plumbing and heating expert Richard Trethewey and landscape contractor Roger Cook will all visit Las Vegas in May, San Francisco and Sacramento in June, Denver in August and Boston throughout the season. They will then head to a "mystery city," according to the press release.
In order to be chosen as the lucky homeowner in the mystery location, hopeful participants must submit their questions on the Web site no later than June 30, the press release states.
Even if a person who submits a home-repair question does not receive a personal house call this season, the expert crew may still tackle the home-improvement problem in the "Ask This Old House" loft, "This Old House" magazine, and/or via the interactive Web site, according to the press release.
The fifth season of "Ask This Old House" will premiere nationally on PBS in October.
