Help needed at camp

for children with cancer

Camp Quality New Jersey is looking for volunteers to become companions for children with cancer at this year's camp, scheduled to be held June 24-30 in Blairstown.

Camp Quality N.J. is a nonprofit organization that provides camping experiences and ongoing support programs for children diagnosed with cancer, and their families. A companion's primary responsibility is to make sure that his camper has the most enjoyable, safe, relaxing and restoring experience possible. Camp companions must be 18 years of age or older, submit an application form, provide three references, agree to a full police background check, attend a mandatory training class on May 20 in Freehold, be available for a personal interview, attend the entire camp session, and maintain contact with their camper for the remainder of the year.

Many children have signed up for this year's camp, and more volunteers are needed, according to Frank Dalotto, the camp's director. For more information or to make a donation, call Dalotto

at (732) 780-1409 or visit www.campqualitynj.org.
