Freehold's Cailyn Hennessy, a sophomore at The Peddie School in Hightstown, hurled a no-hitter for Peddie's girls softball team in its 11-0 win over the Blair Academy. She struck out 10 and walked just one batter.

The lefty is 4-0 on the season, the same record as the Falcons.

Freehold's Hall of Famer harness driver Cat Manzi will be honored by the New Jersey Standardbred Horse Industry at a special dinner on Monday at 6 p.m. in the Renaissance Room at Freehold Raceway. The industry is honoring Manzi for being the U.S. Harness Writers Association and Harness Tracks of America's Harness Driver of the Year in 2005. The veteran led North America in wins last year with 727, driving mainly at Freehold Raceway and the Meadowlands. His is currently the second-winningest driver in harness racing history with 11,650 win.

Tickets for the dinner honoring Manzi are $125 each, and proceeds will go to the Standardbred Horse Industry Political Action Committee. For more information, call Leon Zimmeman at (609) 394-8303.

On Saturday, May 6, the Central Jersey Bicycle Club hosts the 22nd annual Farmlands Bicycle Tour from Brookdale Community College in Lincroft. Ride check-in starts at 7 a.m. This family-friendly event has marked ride routes in a variety of distances from a leisurely 18-mile jaunt to the more ambitious metric century (62.5 miles) and century (100 miles) distances. All routes follow Monmouth County's back roads, providing riders the opportunity to enjoy New Jersey's farmlands. Riders are provided cue sheets, which detail the route distance they choose to ride. SAG vehicles drive the route to provide riders assistance. Breakfast of bagels, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, water and Gatorade are provided at the start of the ride.

Themed rest stops along the route are stocked with drinks and snacks to rehydrate and replenish carbohydrate stores, and allow the chance to relax to the sounds of New Jersey artists from Frank Sinatra to Bruce Springsteen.

Riders who preregister early may also order lunch, which is provided by Blimpie of Lincroft.

When participants have finished the ride, they are invited back to the college pavilion to pick up lunch, grab some cookies, and enjoy Rhythm Nation as they perform a variety of pop and rock tunes.

The Monmouth County Park System is now offering earlier weekday matinee pricing at four of its six golf facilities. The special pricing goes into effect at 2 p.m. instead of 4 p.m., at the following county golf courses:

The Monmouth County Park System has five championship courses, two 18-hole executive courses, and a nine-hole par-three course to accommodate golfers of all skill levels. The Garden State Wood Bat League is still recruiting players for its spring/summer season. If anyone missed the opportunity to attend one of the winter workout clinics, there is still a chance to try out. Garden State Baseball has been around for 11 years and brings in some of New Jersey's finest amateur players, several of whom have been scouted. It is a competitive league involved in several tournaments and Sunday doubleheaders, looking for players ages 13 through college years.
